Term 2 Week 4 - Maths

 This week Room 7 has been learning about different shapes as part of the geometry strand. We talked about different types of shapes as well of the attributes of them. We then used an attribute to sort different shapes into groups. Some groups used colour, number of sides or same shapes. 

Term 2 Week 3 - Football Clinic!

This week we were lucky to have a football clinic at the field. Two coaches came in to teach us two different games using the soccer ball, and some rules on how to play football. It was such a lovely weather and we loved running around and kicking the soccer balls around. 

Term 2 Week 2 - Learning about the out-of-bounds areas

 This week Room 7 has been talking about the correct areas to play in during playtimes, to keep ourselves safe. We discussed about out-of-bounds areas within the school where we need to keep out from. Also, we talked about staying in the junior area when playing!

Term 2 Week 1 - Children's Day!

 Annually on the 5th of May is the Children's day in Korea and Japan. Miss Shin introduced the day to Room 7 and we decided to do a fun activity. We used origami paper to make a boat, then used a straw to put on our name card as a flag! We also learned to write our own names in Korean. 

Term 1 Week 11 - letters to builders

 Our junior toilets are almost finished so we decided to write a thank you letter to the builders. We learned about the structures of a letter - heading, greeting, body, closing and signature. We drew some pictures and coloured them in too. Then, we had Mr. O'Connor visiting the Year 2s to have a Q&A session. We handed him the letters and asked him questions!
